Hot Chocolate Soup


  • 8 ounces nut or rice milk
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 TBSP cocoa powder
  • 1 packet of stevia or sweetener of choice


Blend all ingredients in Vita-Mix until smooth and warm (about 3-4 minutes). No Vita-Mix? Then use a regular blender or process in food processor until creamy. Pour into saucepan and heat on stove-top.

    This looks so yummy!!! I bet the avocado makes it much richer and thicker! What do you use it for-as a sauce or do you dip stuff in it (i.e. pancakes above) or do you eat it straight up?

    Hannah, I eat it straight or as a dip for pancakes, and yes the avocado definitely ups the creamy factor. Love it!

    I’m not a huge fan of avocado, but I do love kabocha squash and this recipe has sparked my interest!!
    Do you think that this would turn out well if you swapped the avocado for kabocha?? And how much do you think that you would need of the kabocha??

    Natnat, I’ve made a creamy and delicious kabocha soup with just cooked kabocha, water, and stevia. So, all you would need to do is add chocolate and swap the water with almond milk. I’m sure it would taste great!

    I’ve also made pureed chocolate kabocha. I think you would love it:
