Yoga Giveaway

June 16, 2009

Hey HEABers!  Want to see another strange meal I ate?  Of course you do. 🙂

Cauli Couscous

Cauli Couscous

What does one do with 1/2 head of leftover steamed cauliflower?  Why, you pulse it in your food processor to make couscous, serve it on a bed of wilted spinach, and top it with random items like red bell pepper, raisins, and Justin’s Honey Almond Butter. Duh.

Who would like to win a free one year Elite Membership from YogaDownload that will allow for unlimited access to their entire library of classes? Um, I do. However, I’ll let one of you guys win instead.  All you have to do is click here to visit, and tell me which class you’d most like to try in the comment field below.  The contest will end tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 17, at midnight, and I’ll announce the random winner on Thursday.

Now, y’all know my favorite online yoga is courtesy of Polly, and I cannot wait for her DVD!!!!  Have you ordered your copy yet?  If not, you can do so by clicking here.  Besides my Polly yoga, I love the classes over at YogaDownload.  They offer a wide variety, and they are now in the process of adding slide shows to all of their classes.  So, rather than referring to a separate pose guide, you can see pictures of the poses on your screen.  Still weary of trying online yoga?  Well, all of their 20 minute classes are free, and through June 30, all other classes are 50% off with the coupon code HEAB.  Plus, once you download the classes onto your computer, you can take them anywhere, and you’ll always have them.  Going on vacation soon? Simply download a class or two onto your iPod or MP3 player. Brilliant, no?  So, first order your Polly DVD here and then click here to start downloading from YogaDownload.  Hurry so that we can practice Tree Pose together. 🙂

Love the Tree!

Love the Tree!

HEAB you are a yoga goddess 😉 BTW, I’ve been so inspired by all you fit yoga bending/posing bloggers that I’m now taking a once a week yoga class at my gym. It’s no fancy studio, but it’s an hour long “get amy out of her cardio/weights box” experiment 🙂

  3. June 16, 2009 10:18 am

yayy best giveaway ever!! I totally checked out the site and have trouble deciding which classes I’d like to try most but…i think it’s gotta be FOrrest Yoga.

“Forrest Yoga helps you connect to your core – getting strong and centered. It uses heat, deep breathing and vigorous sequences to sweat out toxins while the long holds in the pose progressions help you flush, oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell.”

YUP I definitely wanna practice deep breathing and sweat out toxins!! Sounds like such a Chinese Traditional Medicine way of healing!!

    I. am. so. Excited!

I almost can’t decide, but I’ve heard you guys talk about the Vinyasa yoga so much that I think I want to try that.

I miss yoga. My mom used to take me to her yoga classes when I was a little kid and I LOVED IT. I was around 7 or 8 and I used to picture myself as each pose. I’m a tree! I’m a warrior! I had so much fun. I would love to get back to that. Think it’s still possible 20 years later? 😉

What a cool idea for “couscous”. I actually love *real* couscous. Whole wheat. Sometimes if I’m pissed at the cat I call him by his full name – Whole Wheat Couscous. Hehehe.

Raisins are one of those foods that I love, but then forget about for months at a time. In the beginning of my green oat bran phase I was adding them for sweetness but since then I’ve stopped and now I just do nut butter (mm). I think it’s time for a raisin comeback in my life.

I would love to try either the Forrest Yoga or any of the full length detox yogas. I’ve been into twists lately.

I’ve never tried yoga but I’d be really interested in learning about yoga for back pain. I still have a lot of back trouble due to domestic violence, so it’d be awesome if I could learn yoga moves to help the pain.
